So, I\u2019ve always loved picture book character costumes because what\u2019s not to love? As a huge fan of picture books they just feel like such fun Halloween costumes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m also a huge fan of super easy, last minute Halloween costumes \u2013 mostly because I\u2019m a huge procrastinator and always think I can move \u2018DIY Halloween costume\u2019 to a later date on my to-do list. That is until it\u2019s a week or less before Halloween and I still need a costume!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, if you\u2019re in need of a super-quick no sew Halloween costume that you can make the night before, or an easy Book Week costume, try Fitz the Fox!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year Jon & I had our debut picture book, Wander New York: Fitz in the City<\/a>, come out and I can\u2019t think of any other children\u2019s book character costume I would rather do than one for Fitz, because of course, I\u2019m biased!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This costume is super easy to make at the last minute too & it doesn\u2019t require any sewing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All you need to dress up like Fitz the Fox for Halloween is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. – A red and white striped shirt (because Fitz loves stripes!)<\/li>
  2. – Green shorts, or green pants, or just pants of any type<\/li>
  3. – This free DIY no-sew fox ears template<\/a>, some orange and cream fabric or paper & a headband<\/li>
  4. – This free printable paper camera<\/a> \u2013 just like Fitz carries in Wander New York!<\/li>
  5. – A string for your camera (I used some embroidery floss for mine)<\/li>
  6. – Glue or tape in a pinch<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    That\u2019s it and you\u2019ve got your super easy book character costume! BTW, this costume also works great as a World Book Day costume for kids and teachers! And the paper craft camera makes it fun for any time kids read about Fitz and his travels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
